There are many kawaii styles, most of them include bright/pastel colours,cute characters (such as rilakkuma or hello kitty),bows,lace,ruffles and fantasy themes. Some popular kawaii styles are:

Hime Gyaru
Hime Gyaru (he-may gya-roo) is all about looking like a princess. It includes: Tiaras,bows,ruffles,lace,big hair and floral patterns.

Fairy Kei

Fairy Kei (Fairy k) is based on the 80's.Its kind of like Decora but more pastel and less over the top. It uses lots of Pastel colours,bows,hair clips shaped like stars or hearts and cute 80's toys/childrens TV shows. (My little pony,Strawberry short cake,Care bears etc.) 

Pastel Goth

Pastel goth is still about looking kawaii, but in a darker way. it has lots of pastel colours,bats,eyeballs,stripes,skeletons and crosses. 

Decora

Decora is meant to look cute and childish.Its a very OTT (over the top) style that involves LOTS of cute accessories (kawaii hair slides,kawaii necklaces,cute plastic rings etc.),cute characters,bright colours,stripes,spots,tutus and rainbows.









Lolita

Sweet Lolita

Lolita has many sub-styles. The most popular are:
Sweet Lolita
Classic Lolita
Gothic Lolita
Hime Lolita

Sweet Lolita is the cutest and most child-like style of Lolita. The prints are usually themed around fairy tales,candy,cute animals,rainbows,carnivals and toys. It uses lots of pastels,bows and cute accessories.

Classic Lolita is the most mature style of Lolita. The prints are usually floral or plain with ruffles,bows or lace. Accessories can be bonnets or bows.

Gothic Lolita

Gothic Lolita is the darkest style of Lolita. The colours are usually black or white. The dresses are usually plain with bows and ruffles. Accessories can be bows,ribbon or mini top hats.

Hime Lolita

Hime Lolita is similar to Hime Gyaru but uses the same rules of Lolita. Accessories can be flower crowns,tiaras,crowns,bows and ribbon. Prints are usually floral and colours are almost always pink.

Lolita shoes

Although there are many different styles of Lolita, the same rules still apply.

♥Skirt must be just above the knee
♥Shoes are usually the same (flats with bows or Mary Jane shoes.)



Casual kawaii
You don't have to wear a fashion style to be kawaii. For example you could just wear a cute t shirt,wear cute accessories,cute animal hats,pastel wigs,tutu's etc.
